Algorfa Spain

 

Algorfa life

One of Vega Baja’s citrus farming villages with a population of 1000, Algorfa is situated amongst lush and fertile countryside. Just outside the town is an unusual neo-gothic church that was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century and is worth visiting. Algorfa holds a market on Sundays. The area is well connected to the main roads of the area and Alicante and Murcia airports are less than 50km away. La Finca Golf Club at Algorfa is the nearest golf club.

Benidorm life

The town of Benidorm has been a long time British favourite, and is Spain’s largest resort. From a distance, its high-rise buildings stand out, inviting you to participate in the ultimate in entertainment. It is only a 30 minute drive north of Alicante. Millions of visitors each year come to be entertained, with numerous restaurants, clubs, shops, pubs and bars and great beaches such as Playa de Levante, Playa de Poniente, Mal Pas, and La Cala. Playa de Levante, has plenty of bars, cafes and other facilities but can get some what crowded in the high season.
The waters around the island are a marine reserve, and you can journey beneath the waves in the Aquascope for a mesmerizing look at the schools of fish and colourful underwater life. For water sports enthusiasts there is boating, fishing, swimming, and jet-ski's.
The World renowned Benidorm Palace has a glittering, Las Vegas-style show, with Spanish dancers, flamenco, jugglers and magicians, along with a live dance band and orchestra. Show admission includes the first drink and you may also have dinner there if you wish, all at an extremely affordable price.
The Costa Blanca Casino is one of the largest casinos in Spain, and you’ll find it on the road between Benidorm and Villajoyosa. On the outskirts of Benidorm there is a Medieval Tournament, that offers feasting and merry-making medieval-style. Armoured knights on horseback joust and duel before the king and queen. You can sing along with the court jesters, or descend into the Pit of Terror. There’s a disco following the entertainment to round off a fabulous day. Benidorm's recreational possibilities are endless, and it wouldn't be complete without taking an exciting day out at the Mediterranean Theme Park Terra Mítica, and as with elsewhere in Spain there are festivals and fireworks that are sure to delight and entertain you.

Benijofar Spain

Benijofar is a typical Spanish town. It's excellent transport links, allow you to easily reach all of the popular destinations, including the cities of Alicante (airport), Elche, Murcia (airport) and Cartegena, all are within one hours drive, which provides easy access from the United Kingdom, just over 2 hours flying time. You will find that there are many airlines offering a cheap flight to Alicante, so it is worth comparing them to get the best deal. Car hire can also be arranged from the airport.
If you are looking for peace and quiet or a more lively scene, you will not be disappointed. There are plenty of bars, tapas bars, and restaurants to keep you entertained.

Cabo Roig life

Cabo Roig lies in the most beautiful part of Spain in the province of Alicante and the southernmost region of Valencia. Within an hour’s drive of our apartment are La Manga, Cartagena, Guardamar and Orihuela. The bustling coastal city of Alicante is 45 minutes away and Murcia is only 15 minutes away making both airports within easy reach. Cabo Roig has something to offer everyone. It’s surrounded by glorious olive, orange, lemon and almond groves. Vineyards are in abundance here thereby providing inexpensive local wines…. The nearby-refurbished marina (costing over 2 million Euro's) is home to Club Nautico de Cabo Roig, which hosts the Cabo Roig regatta every August. For golf lovers there are 3 first class courses right on your doorstep - Campoamor, Las Ramblas and Villamartin are all only a 5 minute drive. For beach and water enthusiasts there are 3 local beaches, all with crystal clear waters and awarded the EEC Blue Flag for cleanliness. All sorts of water sports are on offer including sailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing, windsurfing and even fishing. There is a big aquapark within 10 minutes drive just north of Torrevieja. There are also theatres, cafés, bars, nightclubs and numerous restaurants.

Dolores Spain

Dolores life

Dolores is located in the Comarca de la Vega Baja in Alicante, about 5 miles from La Marina. It is a beautiful country town, in the heart of the Spanish huerta (vegetable garden) easily accessible though the Alicante to Cartagena motorway (a 10 minute drive away). Dolores has a typical Spanish feel, especially in the evenings when many families gather together at the central plaza to eat, drink and talk.

Formentera life

Formentera is a small village very near to Rojales, Benijofar and Quesada on the Costa Blanca region of Spain. Formentera is a great place to stay while visiting this area as it offers a typical Spanish way of living while being near to the more English shops, bars and restaurants of Quesada and Benimar. This is an up and coming area which will be expanded in the next few years.

Situated south of Alicante, Gran Alacant is a new development overlooking the sea, on the Costa Blanca. The golden sandy beaches of Arenales del Sol are wide and bordered by dunes and just 700 metres away. Guardamar life

Guardamar del Segura is a typically Spanish seaside resort with a population of 11,000 located at the mouth of the River Segura, 25km south of Alicante Airport (El Altet) and 15 km north of Torrevieja. The town boasts 11km of wonderful beaches including Playa el Moncaio, Playa la Roqueta, Playa Centre and Playa dels Vivers which all have been awarded Blue Flag status, as has the port, Puerto Deportivo Marina de las Dunas.  The medieval town was destroyed by the earthquake of 1829 and the new town as seen today was designed with straight streets running north to south and east to west.
Guardamar is famous for the sand dunes (Dunas de Guardamar), which border the beaches. The sand dunes blown in by strong easterly winds began to encroach into the town and in 1900 a massive project began with the planting of forests of pine, eucalyptus and palm trees to hold back the sand. This is now an environmentally protected area and includes the Reina Sofia Park and the Alfonso XIII Park and is home to a wide variety of wildlife including herons, red squirrels and black swans.

La Mata Spain

 

 

La Mata life

La Mata is just north of Torrevieja on a narrow piece of land between the salt lakes and the Mediterranean. La Mata and Torrevieja are growing together more and more each day. La Mata has its own small number of facilities, with its own market and a 11km sandy beach that in the high peak of the summer is full of the local Spanish, newcomers and those on holiday. One benefits from being so near to the town of Torrevieja. From La Mata there is a short journey to Ciudad Quesada, a beautiful place with an 18-hole golf course.
La Mata is ideally located for fishing, swimming, golf and walking on the beach, and water sports are available on the beach during the summer months. There are many fine Spanish restaurants in the local village and other European tastes are also catered for by the Chinese, Italian, Basque and fast food restaurants. It takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the airport of Alicante by the coastal road the N332.

La Marina Spain

La Marina life

To the south of Alicante on the Costa Blanca is the small coastal village of La Marina. This is a very popular attractive coastal landscape for tourists, and the bathing season starts in spring and lasts right through until autumn. La Marina has great expanses of beach that combine with spectacular rolling dunes where conditions are ripe for the appearance of really unique types of flora and fauna.
The sandy beach at La Marina stretches some 17 kilometres from Santa Pola to Torrevieja. The village has a range of shops, bars, banks, and has a regular bus service north and south along the coast. Back from the beach, a 7 minute drive, will take you to the urbanization of La Marina where you will find most of the EX Pats, bars, restaurants, banks etc

Is a lovely Spanish town with character and charm and lots of shops, banks, restaurants and everyday amenities. There are lots of furniture stores which are quite reasonable and large garden centres. It is only 10 minutes to Torrevieja and about 8 minutes to Benijofar and 10 minutes from Rojales.

Orihuela Costa life

Orihuela is the principle town of inland Veja Baja (the southernmost district of Alicante) and is approximately 30 minutes drive from the sandy beaches of the Mediterranean. The centre is full of beautiful works of architecture, not just churches and public buildings but houses of nobility too Sporting enthusiasts are well catered for in Orihuela with the usual array of facilities and the municipal pool. La Finca Golf Club is less than 20 minutes drive away. Tuesday is market day in the town and an excellent time to visit. The surrounding fertile lands, closeness of the sea and the River Segura which flows through Orihuela means the gastronomy of the town offers the pleasures of a healthy Mediterranean diet.

Pilar de la Horadada welcomes all visitors that arrive. Its four kilometres of beaches contrast with its cultivated lands of vegetables and fruit trees, as well as with nature in its purest state, with animal species not often seen in other areas of the Valencian littoral. The town has a coastline of fine sand and clear water interspersed by attractive inlets and beaches with a full range of services between small residential districts and extensive green areas. From the north to the south, the popular, urban beach Mil Palmeras, ideal for sailing enthusiasts, links up with the Rincуn and Puerto inlets, the latter with a well-cared for promenade that comes alive on hot summer nights. Las Villas, the beach behind Torre Horadada marina, is the longest beach followed by small beach at La Mojуn which constitutes a natural boundary with Murcia.

Playa Flamenca is a quite residental area, near to all the required holiday facilities, i.e. blue-flag beachs, championship golf, tennis, water sports, aqua parks, and go-carting. Ten minutes walk from a large shopping complex, 7 restaurants and 5 bars. Torrevieja, a 10 minutes drive away, is a beautiful Spanish town, boasting a marina, waterfront market, street entertainment, shops, numerous cafes, bistros, restaurants, bars, and a beautiful church square. The superb palm-lined promenade and harbour board-walk are the ideal place to go for that evening stroll.

Rojales life

The village of Rojales in Spain is a traditional farming village situated on Segura River on the Costa Blanca, and is just 16 miles (25km) from Alicante.
There has been a major improvement in Rojales infrastructure, which inturn has led to several residential housing estates being constructed within the municipal district.
Rojales now has a multi-sports hall, a Municipal Theatre and the Barrio de las Cuevas which has now become a centre for arts and crafts.

San Pedro del Pinatar Spain

Tradtionally a seafaring and agricultural centre, San Pedro del Pinatar has become one of the principal tourist towns on Murcia's Costa Cálida. The main attractions of San Pedro are concentrated around the beach and shore. Here you will find Lo Pagán, a lively tourist centre which has all kinds of holiday facilities, such as hotels, bars, restaurants and shops. Next to the long promenade facing the Mar Menor are extensive beaches such as La Puntica or Villananitos. This watery setting, combined with the facilities at its marina, means you can do a great many sports, such as sailing, scuba diving or windsurfing.
As well as one of the town's architectural symbols, the Quintín mill, the surrounding area contains the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park, a space where a great many species of migratory birds come to nest. You can also benefit from the therapeutic properties of its mud, especially suitable for treating bone and skin ailments.

Torrevieja life

The town of Torrevieja is situated next to the sea in the province of Alicante, in the south of the Valencian Community. It has an extension of 72 square kilometres and a population of 100,000 inhabitants in low season and 500,000 in high season. Torrevieja has grown immensley over the past twenty years, and Torrevieja today is arguably the most popular destination on the Costa Blanca for Brits looking to purchase a Spanish Property or indeed just looking for a Rental Villa. You will be suprised at the variety of designs of Spanish Property in Torrevieja, and as it has grown in popularity, so has the infrastructure, and must now be considered amongst the most forward looking towns in Europe.
Torrevieja is a very popular holiday destination on the Costa Blanca, renowned for its sandy beaches which stretch for miles. There is a lovely palm lined promenade which is perfect for a daytime or evening stroll. The night market in Torrevieja stretches all along the prom from about 8pm onwards and is a must for the bargain hunter. There is an excellent choice of shops and the lively atmosphere of Torrevieja town makes browsing a pleasant experience. The selection of restaurants is endless and, being a fishing town, fish dishes are a speciality. Boat trips are available from the harbour. Watersports include windsurfing, jet skis, scuba diving etc. There is plenty of nightlife in Torrevieja with bars and nightclubs to please everyone.

Quesada Spain

Quesada life

Ciudad Quesada has made a complete town for itself. It has its own business centres with numerous restaurants, banks, supermarkets, business services, a small facility of stores, sports facilities, a gas station and even a water park. Ciudad Quesada also has the golf course "La Marquesa" that has a fascinating view of the Salt lakes of La Mata and Torrevieja. In Cuidad Quesada there is an international community, which is much enjoyed by property owners of the area. It is situated between Santa Pola and Torrevieja approximately 3 km inland. The heavenly dune beaches near Guardamar are easily reached. Cuidad Quesada is close to the historical place of Orihuela and nearby Elche having the biggest palm grove and the biggest shoe industry of Spain.
Cuidad Quesada has very good traffic conditions due to the recently built motorway. From the airport of Alicante , Cuidad Quesada is easily reached in less then 30 minutes.

Villa Martin Spain

Villa Martin life

Villamartin is probably one of the best known Golf Courses in the Southern Costa Blanca. Since 1972 villas, townhouses and apartments were built around the Golf Course. Villamartin has many gardens, community pools and sports facililties. The real estate here is of excellent quality with marble floors and bathrooms as a rule.
The Plaza of Villamartin offers the visitor a selected range of restaurants and bars to choose from. Villamartin lays approximately 3km from the sea and 10km south of Torrevieja. The journey to the Airport of Alicante takes around 40 minutes. The splendid beaches of La Zenia, Campoamor , and Cabo Roig are all approximately 5 minutes from Villamartin. The golfer does not need to restrict themselves because there are 2 other Courses near by such as Las Ramblas and Campoamor. Villamartin has an international community, living permanentely in Spain or simple visiting for the Golf Season. Not all inhabitants of Villamartin are golf fanatics, but one can simple enjoy gazing over the splendid green areas.
